The end of the Begining

I learnt today that Gary Gygax, the creator of D&D recently passed away. My thoughts, and those of the whole gaming community go out to his loved ones. It was the work of Gary and the others in TSR that fused proper mechanics and story telling to form the basis of RPG.

Here is to you Mr Gygax.

Mr. Gygax is responsible for a hobby that provided me with endless hours of fun. He will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

I can still remember my brother having gotten his D&D box-set. It was the very first version. Since we were always moving around, I was his only friend (and only 10 years old at the time). That meant I had to learn it all, too. My life has never been the same! I'm a huge fan of D&D, upto the 3rd Edition of AD&D. It's just too different from the original concept for me. BG Series was killer and owes its existence to Gary Gygax and his associates. I'm 40 years old and all 3 of my kids are gamers, too.
